The Odds Are Grim
In 2012, there were roughly 41,000 overdose deaths in the United States. Last year, the number topped 100,000.
In 2012, there were 4.7 murders for every 100,000 people. Last year, the rate hit an estimated 6.9, a 47 percent increase.
A decade ago, you rarely heard of carjackings. Now, they are through the roof.
Shoplifting? Ditto.
The nation’s mental health crisis was bad before the pandemic. The effects of lockdowns and school closures have made it much worse.
What do all these things have in common?
They all fall to police officers to handle, to sort out, to make better and go away.
And all this comes on the heals of Defund the Police and anti-police stupidity.
It’s time, we as a nation, pull it together.
At POLICE LIVES MATTER, we fight for real solutions to crime. We also fight for police officers!
We fight for police officers to have the support of their community. An officer’s well-being should be the concern of every citizen.
Why?
Because police officers tend to the well-being of citizens. It’s a thankless job that takes years off their life.
We must support police. It is the decent thing to do.
Yes, I'll help!
Tell police officers you've got their back. Support our efforts.
